The Disintegrated
I'm a 19-year old journalism major with big dreams and little money for my impossible spending habits. I love love love shopping--especially for denim. I am not as shallow as
I seem to be, but it's just that when I get near a pair of jeans, I seem to lose my sense of self...well, maybe that's a little bit of an exagerration =P
I love reading and drawing, although I may not be the best at what I do,
I still enjoy it nonetheless.

Deliver me, Tyler, from being perfect and complete
I currently have my school webpage opened up in another window...I'm about to declare my Bio minor :) I'm really kind of excited but also scared because I don't know how I would do in my Animal Phys. class this semester. I abhor Chemistry, but I'm still passionate about biology, which ironically enough has so much chemistry in it that I'm surprised that I don't hate it like I'm supposed to.
The most horrible thing happened to me today! There is a certain bathing suit by Salinas, a Brazilian brand that
makes to-die-for bikinis and swimsuits. Anyhows, I have been searching this bathing suit (to the left) for the longest time and I was able to get it off ebay in xs and darn Brazilian bikinis were too small! I sort of fit the top...but only obscenely so. I finally found it again today but got outbidded at the last minute...boohoo.
Obviously I shouldn't be so superficial, because I don't really go swimming anyways, and I have many lovely Ondade Mar bikinis...but I guess this one is just special. I've been searching for it for a while and I believe they're no longer being made. Oh, well. That's why we have ebay. Then again, I don't really need bikinis at all. Living in Minnesota, we approximately have 3 months of warm weather, and the rest of the year can get pretty hell-ish. Speaking from the standpoint that I would rather be hot than cold.
I love autumn and spring the best. But we don't really even have a nice autumn. It's not like on the east coast, where you can actually see and experience the slowly-changing seasons. Oftentimes, autumn here passes by in a rush of rainstroms and damp leaves.
Jeff Buckley | Hallelujah | Download
There was a student art festival going on today outside the student union center, and I heard this song playing. It's such a classic, although this IS NOT the original version. A lot of times people mistake it for the original, but Jeff Buckley's is only a renidition, and I really do enjoy it.
Huang Yida | Set Me Free | Download
I first heard this from the Taiwanese drama Devil Beside You starring Rainie Yang and Mike He...who is gorgeous. I really like Yida's songs. They all sound different
from each other and he definitely has a very wide range of vocal tones. His voice is...okay. It seems slightly scratchy to me, but he definitely makes it work in this song.
The interludes of French are really nice because I love the piano instrumental, which switches to intense guitar action. Absolutely awesome.
EDIT// I just got a wonderful host! Social-Riot...thanks so much Hiro!!!!
Um...I should be doing homework right now. My cute Humanities teacher thought of an extra credit idea for us. You would figure it would be something along the lines of a reaction paper to one of our readings or something. Maybe 1-2 pages max. But no. He wants a 3-5 page paper about one of Bernini's artworks, which ranges from fountains, paintings, sculptures, theatre productions, etc. And it's only worth 5 points, all or none! It's probably not worth it, but I think the research process might be interesting anyways so I will probably start going to the library and digging up some books about him. I've already chosen the work that I want to do my paper on: The Rape of Proserpina/Persephone
I found this off of flickr, and it resides in the Borghese museum. According to the author, cameras and photographs weren't allowed into the musuem so it's pretty cool that he was able to get a snapshot of this absolutely amazing sculpture by Bernini. I think it's just stupid to deny people the right to create a memory out of something that's so wonderful. Maybe they want people to stop by the gift shop and waste $10 bucks on a postcard of the sculpture or something, I dunno >.<
Med ang Dia | Monster | Download
There was an acoustic version of this, but I definitely enjoy this one because of the full-blown instruments. I googled the lyrics to this song once and I think it tied in
elements of a fairy-tale gone wrong sort of thing. What about nightmares, people being kidnapped, etc... Very vivid lyrics and I love the abrupt ending and beginning
of this rockish song. It doesn't remind of an angry rocker chick, but it hits something deeper than that.

Chris Cornell | Sunshower | Download
I had a chance to see him in concert and he is just to-die for. He's exceedingly handsome in a druggie kind of way...ahem. He sounds as good live as he does in this song.
this song was originally written for the film version of Charles Dickens Great Expectations. I really enjoyed the film also, which starred Gyenth Paltrow and another
guy that I can't remember the name of o.O. It doens't follow the book at all, and gave it an artsy and elegant twist, but I enjoyed the adaptation nonetheless. Sunshower
wonderfully shows of Chris Cornell's wounded vocals. The lyrics are really touching, and mixed with Chris' voice, you just get a beautifully bittersweet song.

The Windupdeads | Reverse of Shade | Download
This causes somewhat of a sensation when it appeared in a promo for Gossip Girl. For the longest time, people would be posting the wrong song for the 1 min long promo,
etc. I really did like this song a lot. I think the promo really put this band in the spotlight somewhat because the promo strategically chose the best part of the song
to show. The lyrics are mediocre, but the music is really enjoyable. Everytime I hear this song, I get reminded of the promo when Blair Waldorf was in her super-hot pink
nightie, trying to seduce Nate. Definitely download if you've been looking for this!

Jay Chou | Wo Bu Pei | Download
I saw the music video for this, and I suppose Jay wanted it to be like how it is for him in real life, with paparazzi and girls chasing him all the time everywhere. They are
such a disruption that he can't even have a love-life and his girlfriend in the music video ended up leaving him because of his popularity. Then I heard the strangest rumour
that the two dated in real life. Well, can't blame the guy. The girl was really cute. Anyhows, I really really liked this song. The piano is beautiful, as always. Jay's voice
is pretty clear...well a lot more than his older songs. His trademark slurring and murmuring is only present in undertones. This is a great song that is so melancholic that I
can just listen to over and over again.
